Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Technical Lead for the Kubernetes Site Reliability Engineering team to drive the migration of a globally distributed service from AWS-hosted clusters to an internal data-center Kubernetes platform.

You will lead planning, ensure production readiness, and continue to support and improve Kubernetes reliability, scalability, and platform engineering initiatives across the Node Connectivity domain.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software or infrastructure engineering with leadership experience
• 5+ years designing, deploying, and operating large distributed services on Kubernetes
• 5+ years programming in Go or a similar systems language
• Experience supporting production services through incident response and observability
• Strong Linux and networking knowledge, with ability to align stakeholders cross-functionally

Responsibilities

• Lead feasibility assessment, technical planning, and phased migration from AWS to internal Kubernetes platform
• Support operation and reliability of specialized Kubernetes workloads with non-standard load-balancing and traffic requirements
• Solve complex issues across Kubernetes, Linux, networking, containers, and infrastructure to improve scalability and security
• Collaborate with Node Connectivity, firmware, cloud infra, security, SRE, and product teams
• Design, implement and maintain production Go software; drive SRE readiness and post-migration improvements
