Job summary

Cisco ThousandEyes is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to design and manage large-scale distributed systems running in AWS, ensuring performance, reliability, and security across our SaaS platform.

You will deploy cloud-native services, utilize Kubernetes, Prometheus, and Service Mesh, and build automation for deployment, chaos testing, and incident response, shaping the future of our global infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or higher degree with 7+ years’ related experience, or equivalent.
Proficiency in Python or Go.
Security-focused design across the development and deployment lifecycle.
Strong understanding of Unix/Linux systems, kernels and file systems.
Knowledge of Site Reliability principles: Incident Response, Change Management, Distributed Systems, Deployment Strategies, and SLOs.

Responsibilities

Lead design and management of large-scale distributed systems.
Collaborate with application teams to ensure performance, reliability and security of the SaaS platform.
Deploy cloud-native AWS services and CNCF tools (Kubernetes, Prometheus, Service Mesh).
Develop automation for service operations, including deployment, chaos testing, and 'everything-as-code' strategies.
Identify and resolve operational obstacles to keep systems scalable under large data volumes.
