Silicon Labs in Austin, Texas is seeking a Sr. Kubernetes Platform Engineer to define, build, operate, and lifecycle-manage the infrastructure, tools, and platforms required for our organization to operate at scale.

This role spans both on-premises and cloud environments, with responsibilities across Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD, identity, observability, cost management, and developer enablement. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience owning CNCF and open-source infrastructure in production,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technology-related field.
• 5+ years in software development, DevOps, Kubernetes, or related field.
• Experience across on-prem and public cloud infrastructure lifecycles.
• Proficiency with Terraform/Ansible or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud-native ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Collaboration: Build productive relationships and share expertise via presentations and training sessions.
• Documentation: Create and maintain effective documentation and communications.
• Automation: Improve productivity by automating and eliminating waste in processes.
• Infrastructure Lifecycle Management: Design, build, operate, upgrade, and retire infrastructure across on-prem and cloud.
• Kubernetes Platform Ownership: Operate and evolve Kubernetes platforms and related tech.
• CNCF/Open-Source Stewardship: Own CNCF/open-source platforms in production; troubleshoot, upgrade, document, enable.
• Developer Experience: Improve developer experience and productivity by reducing friction.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Design, build, and maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines.
• Security/Identity/Policy: Enforce security, manage secrets, identity, and policies.
• Observability: Build observability stacks with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, etc.
• AI/ML Integration: Support AI/ML infrastructure integration.
• Cost Efficiency: Reduce waste and optimize cloud/Kubernetes costs.
