Job summary

Silicon Labs in Austin, Texas seeks a Sr. Kubernetes Platform Engineer to define, build, and lifecycle-manage our on‑prem and cloud infrastructure.

You will own Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD pipelines, security automation, and cost visibility while collaborating with software teams and supporting AI/ML initiatives. The role emphasizes hands-on ownership, upgrading and automating platforms, and improving developer experience across hybrid environments, with a focus on reliability and scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent training.
• 5+ years in software development, DevOps, Kubernetes and Cloud-Native Platforms engineering.
• Hybrid Infrastructure Lifecycle experience across on-prem and public cloud.
• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, Azure; AWS certs are a plus.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Ansible, Salt, Chef.

Responsibilities

• Collaboration: Build productive relationships and share expertise via presentations and training.
• Documentation: Create and maintain effective docs and communications.
• Automation: Identify opportunities to automate and reduce waste.
• Infrastructure Lifecycle Management: Design, build, operate, upgrade, retire infra across on-prem and cloud with reliability, security, cost, maintainability.
• Kubernetes Platform Ownership: Operate and evolve Kubernetes-based platforms and tooling.
• CNCF and Open-Source Stewardship: Manage CNCF/open-source platforms in production.
• Developer Experience: Improve developer productivity by reducing friction and automating testing/deployments.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Design, develop, maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines.
• Security/Identity/Policy: Enforce security, manage secrets, OIDC integrations, governance.
• Observability: Build observability with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry.
• AI/ML Integration: Support AI/ML infra/services development.
• Cost Efficiency: Reduce cloud/K8s costs.
