Sigma Defense is seeking a Senior Kubernetes Infrastructure Developer to own and operate enterprise AKS-based Kubernetes platforms in a secure Azure environment. You will design, automate, and secure cluster architectures while leading automation efforts and mentoring junior engineers.

Required: 8+ years of Kubernetes/Azure experience, Terraform/Bicep/Helm, RBAC, and DoD/regulatory readiness. US citizenship and TS/SCI eligibility are prerequisites for this role.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience designing, deploying, and operating Kubernetes environments.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and AKS.
• Experience IaC: Terraform, Bicep, Helm.
• Knowledge of RBAC, security and identity integration (Entra ID).
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, configure, and maintain enterprise Kubernetes infrastructure on AKS.
• Lead Kubernetes platform architecture, automation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Design scalable and resilient AKS architectures for mission-critical apps.
• Automate provisioning and lifecycle management of AKS clusters and Azure infra.
• Develop reusable IaC modules and deployment patterns using Terraform, Bicep, Helm, and manifests.
• Develop automated deployment and configuration using GitOps and CI/CD.
• Design and implement Kubernetes networking, ingress, service discovery, load balancing, and connectivity to Azure resources.
• Integrate AKS with VNETs, Private Endpoints, Private DNS, Azure Firewall, App Gateway, Load Balancer.
• Implement secure private AKS architectures and RBAC with Entra ID.
• Implement workload identity, secrets management, and access to Azure resources.
• Integrate Kubernetes with Azure Key Vault.
• Maintain Helm charts and standardized deployment patterns.
• Integrate AKS with Azure Policy and Defender for Cloud.
• Implement logging, monitoring (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics), and alerts.
• Design for high availability, resiliency, scaling, backup, recovery, and lifecycle management.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
