Job summary

Kyndryl is seeking a Senior Kubernetes / Cloud Platform Engineer to lead deployment, operation and optimization of enterprise Kubernetes across public cloud and on-prem environments. This hands-on role requires deep expertise in AKS, EKS, GKE and OpenShift, plus automation using Terraform and Ansible.

You will join a remote EST team supporting a 6-month contract with potential extensions, working in a follow-the-sun model across Asia and North America.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Kubernetes administration across multiple environments.
• Automation and IaC with Terraform and Ansible in production.
• Experience with public clouds (Azure, AWS, GCP) in hybrid/multi-cloud architectures.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, maintain and scale Kubernetes clusters across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Build and maintain Highly available, scalable, secure container infrastructure.
• Automate cluster provisioning, upgrades, patching and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across Kubernetes, Linux, networking and cloud.
• Support lifecycle management, monitoring and security for Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with internal teams on platform improvements.

Job description

Position:Senior Kubernetes / Cloud Platform Engineer

Client:Electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and technology hardware

Location: Remote - EST

Duration: 6 months contract with potential extensions

Language: English

We are looking for a hands-on engineer with strong Kubernetes infrastructure expertise to support the deployment, administration, maintenance, automation and troubleshooting of enterprise Kubernetes environments across public cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

Key Technical Requirements:

• Kubernetes:Strong hands-on experience with AKS, EKS, GKE, Red Hat OpenShift and on-premises Kubernetes environments.
• Infrastructure Automation:Terraform (IaC), Ansible and configuration management.
• Scripting:Python, Bash/Shell and/or PowerShell for infrastructure automation and operational support.
• Cloud Platforms:Experience across Azure, AWS and GCP in hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
• Networking & Security:Kubernetes networking, ingress controllers, load balancing, RBAC, network policies and container security.
• CI/CD:Experience with Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD and automated infrastructure/application deployments.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting:Kubernetes cluster monitoring, performance optimization, incident resolution and root-cause analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, maintain and scale Kubernetes clusters across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Build and maintain highly available, scalable, secure and resilient container infrastructure.
• Automate cluster provisioning, upgrades, patching and ongoing maintenance.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across Kubernetes, Linux, networking and cloud infrastructure.
• Support Kubernetes lifecycle management, monitoring, security and performance.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams on platform improvements and operational automation.

Operating Model:

The resource will be embedded within the client's infrastructure team and operate within a 24x7 follow-the-sun support model, with resources distributed across Asia and North America. This requires strong communication, documentation and effective handoffs between regional teams to ensure continuous operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

A senior infrastructure/cloud engineer with strong hands-on Kubernetes administration experience, automation capabilities and a background supporting enterprise production environments.

The focus is Kubernetes platform engineering and operations rather than application development or traditional software-focused DevOps.
