Job summary

Ashley Furniture Industries is seeking a Senior Kubernetes Engineer to lead design, implementation, and management of enterprise-scale Kubernetes platforms across multi-cloud and on-prem environments.

You will drive automation, security, and reliability, build operators, CI/CD pipelines, and governance, mentor engineers, and partner with teams to deliver scalable, resilient infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience.
• Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD/CKS) preferred.
• Experience with Kubernetes Operators Framework and multi-cloud deployments.

Summary

The Senior Kubernetes Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise-scale Kubernetes platforms. This role requires deep technical expertise in container orchestration, microservices architecture, and cloud-native technologies. The position combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic platform development, focusing on scalability, security, and automation of Kubernetes environments across multiple clouds and on-premises installations.

Primary Job Functions

• Actively design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions across multiple platforms (Azure, Google Cloud) as well as implementations into Kubernetes platforms, and understand the concept of cattle vs pets, but the reality of which is which, why, and how to build solutions around that.
• Design and implement enterprise-scale Kubernetes clusters and supporting infrastructure
• Develop and maintain custom Kubernetes operators and controllers
• Create and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes deployments
• Implement security best practices and compliance controls
• Design and implement multi-cluster management solutions
• Architect high-availability and disaster recovery solutions
• Develop automation for cluster lifecycle management
• Implement service mesh and networking solutions
• Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Optimize cluster performance and resource utilization

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience

• Experience with large-scale deployments (100+ nodes) Demonstrated expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, Kubernetes clouds)
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Deep understanding and implementation experience with security frameworks and compliance standards.
• Experience with enterprise integration patterns and their implementation
