Job summary

HireHi in the United States is seeking a skilled Kotlin backend engineer to develop and integrate payment gateway solutions that process merchant payments and route funds to users. You will work on high-load architectures, optimize data stores, and ensure PCI DSS compliance while collaborating with providers and internal teams.

Responsibilities include implementing payment integrations, reviewing external docs, writing tests, and driving automation using AI-assisted coding tools.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial Kotlin development experience.
• Experience with the Spring Framework and payment solutions integration.
• Experience with MySQL and Redis databases.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Codeium).
• Knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture and Kafka.
• Strong understanding of microservice architecture, TDD, CI/CD.
• English proficiency at B1 level or higher.
• Nice to have: Java, Camunda, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, AWS, Jira, GitLab CI/CD, internal code generators.

Responsibilities

• Develop payment integrations and services.
• Automate and optimize integration processes.
• Analyze external provider documentation, conduct rapid checks, and define epics and tasks based on Proof of Concept.
• Participate in designing and developing high-load system architectures.
• Support and improve existing solutions and services.
• Write high-quality code covered by unit and integration tests; conduct code reviews.
• Optimize system performance and database queries; resolve production incidents and bugs.
• Collaborate with QA to ensure quality; use AI tools to accelerate delivery and create internal generators.
