Embark on a transformative journey as a Senior KDB Data Engineer at Barclays

Our vision is clear: to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. We aim to modernize, simplify, and standardize our KDB stack. KDB+ is a key part of the Data Strategy, and this team interacts with senior stakeholders daily. You'll gain insights into the design patterns used and explore opportunities in containerization and cloud-native products. Exciting projects include integrating Pykx, Data Bricks, and Snowflake with KX.

To be successful as a Senior KDB Data Engineer, you should have experience with:

• Excellent Q/Kdb+ programming skills on Linux
• Development experience in front office and electronic trading systems
• Knowledge of agile and SDLC processes
• Experience with Maven, Java, Git, TeamCity, Jira, and Confluence

Additional valued skills include:

• A strong academic record with a numerate degree (e.g., computer science, maths, physics, engineering) of 2:1 or higher
• Full lifecycle development experience on at least one large commercial system, ideally focusing on significant development of large distributed Kdb+ systems

You may be assessed on key skills such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology skills, as well as job-specific technical skills.

Location and Compensation

This role is based in our New York, NY office.

Salary Range: $170,000 - $227,000
