Job summary

Oowlish, a fast-growing software development company, seeks a Senior Kafka/AWS Integration Engineer to join a project building an event-driven middleware platform. Salesforce serves as the initial event source, with AWS-based integration work guided by the Lead Integration Architect.

You will work across Apache Kafka, Amazon MSK, Java, Kafka Connect, CDC, AWS serverless technologies, and infrastructure as code, delivering reliable integrations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Backend and integration development with Java.
• Experience with event-driven and Kafka-based systems.
• Hands-on AWS services and cloud-based integrations.
• Production-grade integration pipelines.
• CI/CD and automated testing practices.
• Agile/sprint environment under client architect.
• Strong communication and technical documentation.
• Advanced written and verbal English.

Responsibilities

• Provision and configure Amazon MSK clusters, topics, and schema registry.
• Configure and maintain Kafka Connect and CDC source connectors.
• Build REST-based event ingress using API Gateway and AWS Lambda.
• Develop Java stream-processing applications to transform data between Kafka topics.
• Build Java-based integration pipelines to downstream systems.
• Implement dead letter queues and error-handling patterns.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and code coverage.
• Build and maintain infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation.
• Collaborate with the Lead Integration Architect and agile team.
• Create clear technical documentation and knowledge transfer.
