Job summary

King County Superior Court is seeking a Juvenile Probation Counselor Supervisor to oversee a team of professional and support staff, guiding probation services for youth and families at a hybrid work location in Renton, WA. The position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of counseling or case management experience; a master's degree and supervisory background

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of counseling/casework experience with juvenile offenders
• Master’s degree in social services or criminal justice and supervisory experience preferred
• Knowledge of CMAP, PACT and motivational interviewing preferred
• Understanding of court operations and processes
• Ability to work with youth and families from diverse backgrounds
• Knowledge of counseling theories, methods and interviewing techniques
• Knowledge of community resources and adolescent development
• Experience with word processing and database management software

Responsibilities

• Supervise professional counselors and support staff.
• Coordinate daily operations such as caseload management and electronic files.
• Lead organizational change and develop new processes.
• Assist counselors with complex cases as a resource.
• Act as Quality Assurance Specialist for PACT and CMAP.
• Develop and oversee procedures for unit operations.
• Coordinate and monitor treatment contracts.
• Maintain liaison with courts, law enforcement, schools and community agencies.
• Provide orientation, training and evaluate staff.
• Gather and analyze data and prepare complex reports.
• Contribute to department policy development.
• Develop and supervise special projects.
• Participate in Juvenile Probation Supervisors meetings.
