Job summary

Washington County School District is seeking a Senior Army Instructor (SAI) to lead our JROTC unit as department chair and chief instructor. The candidate must have a BA/BS degree and Cadet Command certification, and be retired with at least 20 years of active duty service.

You will oversee teaching and program administration, reporting to the Principal/SAI with district oversight. The role requires readiness to maintain JROTC curriculum, coordinate LET activities, and interact with students,

Qualifications

BA/BS degree required; certified by Cadet Command as JROTC Army Instructor.
Must be retired with a minimum of 20 years of active duty service.
Must meet Army height, weight, and physical fitness standards.

Responsibilities

Manage and conduct the JROTC unit according to school rules, regulations, and policies.
Advise school authorities on policy and regulation changes.
Maintain good relations with school authorities, faculty, and the student body.
Conduct public affairs in local schools and community to promote JROTC and Army understanding.
Enroll students in JROTC and support officials while executing curriculum and LET activities.
Prepare weekly training schedules.
Maintain contact with parents of Cadets facing academic or behavioral problems.
Ensure JROTC areas are neat, with policy materials and security of sensitive items.
