Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field is required.
• 5+ years of oil and gas experience with JIB and operations focus.
• Strong COPAS and operating agreements understanding.
• Advanced Excel skills (lookup, pivots, large data handling).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute monthly JIB cycles, including journal entries, cost allocations, and partner invoicing.
• Maintain and update AFEs in the accounting system.
• Serve as the primary contact for partner billing inquiries and issue resolution.
• Support monthly close processes, including LOE and capital accruals.
• Support monthly operations reporting packages and attend related meetings.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with audit documentation and financial statement support.
• Track and prepare monthly payout statements.
• Drive process improvements and automation using EnergyLink, OpenInvoice, and SQL.

As a Senior JIB Accountant, you'll play a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy and transparency across our energy operations. You'll lead joint interest billing processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to strategic financial reporting. This is a high-impact role ideal for a detail-oriented professional eager to drive process improvements and leverage technology in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Operations Accounting Manager and is on a hybrid work schedule. (4 days in office and 1 day working from home).
