Themesoft Inc is seeking a Senior Java Web Engineer in a hybrid contract role in the United States. The ideal candidate will design and implement backend services, collaborate with frontend teams, and contribute to architecture discussions.

You will work with Java 21, Spring Boot 3.x, and React 17, delivering high-quality solutions in an Agile environment. The role requires 4–8+ years of software experience, strong REST API knowledge, and proficiency in SQL databases like PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years of professional software engineering experience with Java 21, React 17, and Spring Boot 3.x.
• Strong fundamentals in Java, concurrency, and memory management; solid REST API design.
• Experience with relational DBs (PostgreSQL), Git, and build tools (Maven/Gradle).
• Familiarity with Agile processes, Linux/Unix environments, and CI/CD pipelines.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced [Senior Java Web Engineer] to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the job responsibilities as listed below and will work closely with [team/stakeholders] to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contributes to design, development, and implementation of backend services and web applications.


• Writes clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering practices.


• Participates in technical design discussions and collaborates with senior engineers and architects.


• Works closely with frontend developers to integrate backend services with UI components.


• Supports troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization of applications.


• Breaks down user stories into technical tasks and delivers within agreed timelines.

Required Qualifications:

[4-8]+ years of professional experience in [Java 21, React (version 17), Spring Boot 3.x ].

Essential skills:

• Strong Java fundamentals (Java 21 preferred) including core concepts (collections, concurrency, memory management).


• Solid experience with Spring Framework (Spring 4+) and Spring Boot 3.x.


• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.


• Good knowledge of React (version 17) and integration with backend services.


• Strong understanding of web application architecture and client-server communication.


• Experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL).


• Proficiency with version control (Git) and build tools (Maven/Gradle).


• Strong focus on clean code, unit testing, and code reviews.


• Familiar with Agile development practices.


• Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments.


• 4–8+ years of software engineering experience.


• Experience with JSF / JSP applications and legacy UI technologies.


• Familiarity with modern frontend practices and component-based architectures.


• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and testing practices.


• Exposure to Docker / containerization.


• Basic understanding of distributed systems.


• Familiarity with Spring ecosystem tooling.


• Knowledge of financial systems or trading platforms is a plus.

Educational background:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent software engineering qualification.

Interviews:

There are three rounds of interview to select the candidate

Round 1: Technical discussion

Round 2: Live coding test by client

Round 3: Technical discussion with client (Face to face for New York location candidates, Virtual for other location candidates)
