Job summary

CGS is seeking a Java developer/programmer to join a team working on the enhancement of data utilization for a large, state‑run project. The developer will aggregate data from several sources and prepare plans for how this data can be collected, processed, stored, and reported on.

The candidate should have expert knowledge of Java coding and web applications including the Java Server Faces Framework. CGS offers growth opportunities and a collaborative, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience developing Java web applications using JSF
• 5+ years of experience in Java web UI design with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• 3+ years of experience integrating Java web apps with SQL databases using Hibernate
• 3+ years of SQL relational database design and coding experience
• 5+ years of experience developing software in team and independent settings
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects under time pressure

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business analysts and developers to produce software designs
• Provide work estimates to project manager and track progress
• Formulate program specifications and prototypes
• Transform designs into high-functioning code
• Integrate software solutions into higher-level systems
• Use web-based tools to create and advance applications
• Test code and debug to ensure desired results
• Develop testing and acceptance procedures with teams
• Perform upgrades for security and efficiency
• Provide training and documentation for user support
