Job summary

Jobtailor in New Jersey seeks a senior Java architect/lead to design, develop, and deploy scalable applications using Java, Spring, and microservices.

You will partner with business stakeholders, own end-to-end delivery, and drive CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud initiatives on AWS or containerized workloads.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree Required
8 years of work experience required; 10 years preferred
5 or more years of hands-on programming experience in Java and Spring framework in production environments
5 or more years of experience building microservices and RESTful APIs using Java, deployed on AWS or containerized workloads
Experience with relational or NoSQL database technologies, including Oracle or MongoDB
Demonstrated ability to lead a team of developers delivering high-quality, scalable applications to production
Experience with front-end development using React or Angular preferred
Ability to research emerging technologies and lead proof-of-concept initiatives preferred
Ability to partner with business stakeholders to align goals and timelines, define solution roadmaps, and lead end-to-end delivery
Application ownership experience
Knowledge of Agile Methodology, Continuous Integration and Deployment, Data Analysis, Debugging, DevOps, Enterprise Application Integration, Operating Systems Management, Programming, Software Development Life Cycle, and Web Application Development

Responsibilities

Lead analysis, programming, and configuration of end-user applications or systems software
Develop strategy and roadmap for innovation and automation based on detailed business requirements and specifications
Configure internally developed and commercial off-the-shelf applications using programming, scripting, and database languages
Plan application testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolution activities
Correct programming errors, respond to scope changes, and code application enhancements
Maintain client relationships and communicate with IT and business management
Monitor prompt response and support for technical issues
Receive activity and progress reports for application systems analysis and programming sections
Lead process improvements, cost reduction efforts, and tool development to reduce complexity and improve service
Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals
Influence business decisions and recommend operational strategies and plans
