Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a Java Senior Technical Manager to lead enterprise-grade Java applications in a fast-paced banking technology environment. The role requires deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, Kafka, GoLang, AWS Lambda, and Terraform.

You will drive cloud-native architecture decisions and set coding and delivery standards. You will lead end-to-end delivery for multiple banking initiatives, manage a ~75-engineer team across onsite, offshore, and nearshore locations,

Qualifications

• 15+ years of IT experience with 5+ years in Technical/Engineering Management.
• Proven expertise in Java, Spring Boot and microservices architectures.
• Experience with REST APIs, Kafka, GoLang, AWS Lambda and Terraform.
• Experience managing large engineering teams (50-100 members).
• Strong customer-facing, solutioning and delivery governance skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural and technical leadership for enterprise-grade Java applications.
• Drive API-first, event-driven, cloud-native architectures.
• Establish engineering standards, secure coding, CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Oversee design reviews, performance optimization, scalability, and production readiness.
• Own end-to-end delivery for multiple banking technology initiatives.
• Lead solutioning discussions, workshops, estimations, and roadmaps.
• Build scalable engineering teams through hiring, coaching, and career development.
• Foster high-performance culture with accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage performance, capacity planning, and cross-workstream utilization.
