Job summary

Korn Ferry is partnering with our client to hire a Java / Spring Boot Back-end Engineer for a large-scale, consumer-facing digital platform in New York. This hands-on role focuses on building secure, scalable backend software and owning design across development, testing, deployment, and support.

You will design, develop, test, and maintain Java/Spring Boot services, work with AWS infrastructure, and contribute to automated testing and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on back-end Java development.
• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience across the Software Development Life Cycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain secure, high-quality Java and Spring Boot back-end applications and services.
• Own end-to-end component design, translating requirements into scalable software solutions and production-quality code.
• Develop and maintain automated testing across unit, component, contract, end-to-end, and performance levels.
• Work with AWS infrastructure and contribute to provisioning and support of environments.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts while ensuring alignment with design constraints.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and drive improvements in code quality and system architecture.
• Participate in CI/CD, resilience, security, and Agile practices.
• Leverage AI development tools to boost engineering productivity while maintaining fundamentals.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, and infrastructure teams.
