Santander is seeking aSenior Java Application Developer to contribute hands-on across multiple complex enterprise initiatives in the United States. The role focuses on analysis, design, development, troubleshooting, and maintenance of scalable software solutions that support key business units.

The position requires strong Java expertise in distributed systems, with a track record in OO design, design patterns, and service-oriented architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience - Required.
• 9+ years of hands-on application development experience, with strong expertise in Java in a distributed system.
• Advanced proficiency in object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Proven expertise in modern software paradigms, including Web and backend development, service-oriented and microservices architectures, cloud computing concepts, TDD, and DDD.
• Strong service-oriented architecture and integration experience.
• Strong SQL and relational database skills.
• Demonstrated ability to design and troubleshoot large-scale, high-availability systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to drive solutions across teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior hands-on developer across multiple complex application initiatives.
• Lead technical analysis, design, development, and maintenance of software applications and components.
• Provide advanced expertise in troubleshooting complex application, system, and performance issues.
• Design, implement, and support system enhancements, refactoring, and modernization efforts.
• Research, evaluate, and implement solutions for performance monitoring, tuning, scalability, and system configuration.
• Drive the development and maintenance of automated test suites and QA practices.
• Contribute to technical design and architectural decisions for complex projects.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to associate and mid-level developers.
• Partner with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to achieve objectives.
