They are seeking a highly autonomous, senior hands‑on engineer who is ready to take complete independent project ownership, lead architectural collaborations, and provide strong technical execution within a tight, specialized engineering team of five full‑time developers.

Job Responsibilities

• Data Flow & Scaling Optimization: Heavy optimization of massive data ingestion flows and high‑throughput backend architectures to process internet‑scale datasets reliably.
• Orchestration Workflows: Architect, deploy, and maintain stable distributed workflows utilizing Temporal orchestration.
• Production Engineering: Systematically refactor and transition existing highly profitable MVPs into highly stable, scalable enterprise production architectures.
• Greenfield Development: Build out new features from scratch to extend the narrative tracking platform's data aggregation and search functionalities.
• Cloud & Infrastructure Management: Package and deploy robust backend systems onto Kubernetes clusters using infrastructure‑as‑code with Terraform.
• Database Ecosystem Alignment: Work intimately with complex relational and graph storage mechanisms, heavily utilizing PostgreSQL and Neo4j.
• Technical Ownership: Drive independent end‑to‑end execution of architectural features without relying on layers of corporate project management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Degree: Mandatory Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related technical field.
• Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of professional software engineering experience. Must reflect senior/staff capabilities but prefer remaining primarily a hands‑on individual contributor.
• Core Tech Stack Mastery: Exceptional, deep expertise with Java as your primary engineering language.
• Architectural Experience: Proven experience in heavy data optimization, high‑throughput pipelines, and large‑scale data ingestion ecosystems.
• Database Experience: Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL and experience utilizing graph database architectures like Neo4j.
• Deployment Mastery: Demonstrated hands‑on experience deploying containerized applications into production via Kubernetes clusters.Environment Fit: Previous success in a fast‑paced tech startup ecosystem; candidates must show professional tenure stability (2+ years per role preferred) without chronic annual job‑hopping.
• Geographic Limitation: Candidate MUST currently reside within the United States due to strict contractual compliance requirements.
• Extras & Pluses: Production experience with Temporal is a massive plus and a top screening priority. General programming familiarity with Python, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or deploying applications running on GPUs is highly beneficial. Constructive, balanced use of AI tools to enhance personal development workflows is welcomed, provided it does not replace core system engineering thought processes.
