Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional Java experience with Spring Boot.
• 7+ years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Proficient with Git for version control.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Hands-on experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Interest in AI-assisted development workflows and pairing tools.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Java Software Developer to design, build, and implement new features in an existing enterprise application. This is a back-end–focused role for an experienced developer who thrives in collaborative, test-driven, and agile environments.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Java applications using Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Drive quality through consistent application of Test-Driven Development (TDD) using a “test-first” approach.
• Build internal tools and user-facing features that enhance the user experience.
• Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and QA teams in an Agile environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production and development environments.
• Mentor junior developers and participate in peer code reviews.
• Engage in paired programming, rotating teams periodically to encourage learning and innovation.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of professional experience in Java and Spring Boot.
• 7+ years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Proficient with GIT for version control.
• Skilled in testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Hands-on experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Excited about Test-Driven Development and committed to software quality.
• Experience with, or openness to, AI-assisted development workflows, including pairing with tools such as OpenAI Codex to support test-driven development and code quality.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of Java/Spring Boot development.
• 2+ years of practical TDD experience.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications or “strangling” monoliths.
