Job summary

Harris Digital Learning is seeking a seasoned software architect to drive modernization of a large enterprise platform. You will lead data-layer modernization, oversee Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration, and stand up a REST API façade along with identity and enrollment foundations.

You will set engineering practices, mentor teams, and shape the future team. Strong Java/Spring Boot, modern frontend, cloud delivery, and accessibility requirements are essential.

Qualifications

• Modernized large legacy systems with monolith decomposition and data-layer migration.
• Experience in designing REST APIs and identity/ enrollment foundations.
• Strong Java, Spring Boot, and modern frontend stack (Angular/React/TypeScript).
• Relational DB design, ORM behavior, and query performance (Oracle and PostgreSQL).
• Experience with vendor or systems-integrator relationships and project specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead data-layer modernization and platform migration.
• Stand up REST API façade and foundational services.
• Establish engineering practices: CI/CD, code review, tests with low coverage.
• Mentor engineers and contractors; drive AI-assisted development adoption.
• Define team structure and hire plan for modernization effort.
