Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Software Engineer III within the Merchant Services Technology group. You will be part of an agile team designing and delivering secure, scalable technology products.

You will develop production code, participate in code reviews, and apply AI-assisted development tools to improve quality and speed. The role emphasizes reliability, security, and collaboration across business functions.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with ability to evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Executes software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting with ability to go beyond routine approaches.
• Creates secure, high-quality production code and maintains algorithms.
• Leverages AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity with peer review and secure coding standards.
• Applies SDLC toolchain knowledge, including AI-assisted development and automation, to improve value.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensures design constraints are met.
• Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and visualizes data for continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
• Identifies hidden data patterns to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
