Job summary

CEI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Pittsburgh to join a high-performing technology team supporting critical applications for a large financial services organization.

The role requires a hands-on developer with strong Java, Spring, and microservices experience, and the ability to work in an Agile environment. Banking/fintech experience is preferred, with on-site collaboration in a modern enterprise setting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Proven experience building microservices and distributed systems.
• Expertise with Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring technologies.
• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience working with Redis or other caching technologies.
• Strong OO programming and design pattern knowledge.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and modern development tools.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work independently in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support enterprise-grade Java applications and microservices.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs that support scalable business solutions.
• Develop solutions using Spring Boot and related Spring frameworks.
• Leverage Redis and other caching technologies to improve performance.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, BAs, QA, and DevOps within Agile/Scrum.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across applications and services.
• Ensure applications meet security, reliability, performance, and compliance standards.
• Contribute to code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
