Job summary

Randstad is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our high-impact client team in the Washington, D.C. metro area, supporting mission-critical enterprise operations applications.

You will drive backend services with Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Kafka, PostgreSQL and contribute to responsive Angular frontend work, with overall architecture and cloud-focused responsibilities. Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with frontend exposure
• Proficient in Java (17/21) and Spring ecosystem (Boot, Security, Data)
• Experience with Kafka/AWS MSK and DLTs including idempotency and rebalancing
• Frontend experience with Angular (v15+) and RxJS
• Cloud and CI/CD expertise in AWS and related tooling
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Eng or an equivalent
• Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and data modeling

Responsibilities

• Backend & API Development: design, build, and maintain Spring Boot microservices exposing REST and reactive endpoints
• Event-Driven Architecture: architect messaging pipelines with Spring Kafka and DLTs
• Data Modeling & Batch Workloads: model and optimize relational data with Spring Data JPA and PostgreSQL
• System Resilience & Security: implement circuit breakers, rate limiting, and security with OAuth2/JWT/AWS Secrets Manager
• Frontend Delivery: build UI features with Angular (v15+) and RxJS
• Testing & QA: write unit/integration tests and collaborate on E2E testing with Playwright
• DevOps & Cloud Ownership: containerize with Docker and manage CI/CD with GitHub Actions and AWS CodeBuild
• Technical Leadership: architecture/code reviews, mentoring, incident resolution
