Job summary

Cotality seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Dallas to design, develop, and scale microservices and RESTful APIs in Java. You will drive event-driven architectures with Kafka, partner with TPMs and product teams, and help implement AI-assisted development workflows to boost velocity and quality.

The role demands 5–8+ years of experience, strong Spring Boot expertise, and solid relational DB skills. Hybrid work supports collaboration across global teams and modern cloud deployments.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and deploying microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Kafka for inter-service communication and event streams.
• Strong relational DB skills (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL).
• Familiar with AI tooling to accelerate delivery (GitHub Copilot, Claude).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance software systems and RESTful APIs in Java.
• Implement and optimize event-driven workflows using Apache Kafka.
• Collaborate with TPMs, product managers, and UX engineers to translate requirements into robust code.
• Lead CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and containerized deployments.
• Mentor junior engineers and support cross-team collaboration across nearshore/offshore teams.
• Assist in production incidents and root-cause analyses to improve resilience.
