Job summary

Innova Solutions is hiring a Lead Java Developer / Hands-On Technical Lead for a 6+ month contract in New York (Remote role). You will guide and code, oversee design refinement, and drive enterprise reporting and data integration projects using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and PostgreSQL.

The role emphasizes technical leadership with hands-on delivery, backlog refinement, and production support while collaborating across squads and ensuring coding standards.

Qualifications

• Strong experience developing enterprise applications with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Angular, REST APIs, SQL, and PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases.
• Demonstrated experience as a senior developer, technical lead, or team lead.
• Ability to guide a development team while remaining hands-on technically.
• Experience with technical design, backlog refinement, code reviews, testing, and deployment support.
• Knowledge of data integration, ETL processes, and data quality practices.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues and supporting critical applications.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical refinement and design analysis before sprint execution.
• Assess current-state applications and recommend optimization opportunities.
• Break down backlog items into clear technical tasks for development teams.
• Develop and support applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and PostgreSQL.
• Review technical designs, code, unit testing, deployment plans, and production changes.
• Establish and promote coding, quality, reuse, and performance standards.
• Identify and remediate technical debt, inefficient code, and data-quality issues.
• Provide hands-on support during production incidents, troubleshooting sessions, and SRT calls.
• Mentor and guide developers while partnering closely with team members.
• Review data flows from SAP and non-SAP sources into reporting applications.
• Support data validation, reconciliation, audit checkpoints, and the resolution of data mismatches.
• Collaborate with other squads that share enterprise reporting and data capabilities.
• Assist with federal and state reporting requirements and related application support.
