Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Fraud Insights team, focusing on Java development. You will design, develop, and deliver scalable fraud detection and analytics software, leveraging cloud-based microservices, data visualization, and SaaS integrations like Power BI.

You will mentor teams, drive testing and automation, and work with stakeholders across merchants, issuers, and digital players to reduce fraud risk and improve platform reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or extensive work experience.
• 10+ years of hands-on software development experience with 6+ years in software and microservices architecture.
• Strong understanding of security practices and PoCs.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, and relational/noSQL databases.
• Experience with front-end frameworks (Angular preferred) and CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

• Design highly scalable, fault-tolerant cloud systems.
• Ensure deliveries align with architectural design and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams.
• Drive adoption of Quality Engineering services (CI, testing, environment automation).
• Lead cross-team collaboration to deliver high-quality software.
