Job summary

Citi in Mississauga, Ontario, is seeking a Java Developer Lead Analyst at Vice President level to architect and drive scalable, high-performance applications within Citi's Insight regulatory reporting framework. You will mentor mid-level engineers, define engineering standards, and collaborate across architecture, infrastructure, and business teams to deliver new product capabilities.

The role combines hands-on coding with strategic leadership in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on software development experience with a strong backend focus.
• Deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot, with advanced knowledge of SQL and real-time messaging technologies.
• Proven leadership and people management skills, with experience guiding engineering teams.
• Demonstrated ability to design software architecture and conduct trade-off analysis across complex technical landscapes.
• Experience building and delivering microservices-based architectures in production environments.
• Proficiency with a modern JavaScript framework such as Angular, with cross-stack contributions encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the development of scalable, high-performance applications within Citi's Insight regulatory reporting framework.
• Design and implement solutions across a modern stack including Java, Spring Boot, SQL, and real-time messaging systems.
• Build and optimize data pipelines and analytical workflows using Big Data technologies for robust regulatory reporting outcomes.
• Define and enforce engineering standards for coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
• Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to identify enhancements and deliver new capabilities.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and analysts, providing technical direction and growth support.
