Job summary

Northstrat is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement complex Java-based software capabilities for computer systems. You will work with a talented team to deliver high-quality software solutions for clients in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

We value strong leadership, mentoring, and the ability to adapt to changing project needs while maintaining rigorous testing and troubleshooting. Hybrid work allows 1–2 days per week at our Columbia, MD office or client sites.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 9 years in Software Engineering with modern Java frameworks.
• Experience building and maintaining Kubernetes deployments using helm and flux.
• Strong Java software development experience and API design.
• Experience with RESTful web services and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Linux and configuration management tools (Git, Nexus, Maven).
• Proven leadership or mentoring experience in engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement Java-based software capabilities for computer systems.
• Mentor and guide engineers; transition between hands-on work and leadership.
• Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies; work in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborate with team to deliver high-quality software solutions to clients.
• Work in a hybrid setting, 1–2 days per week in Columbia, MD or at client sites.
