Job summary

OpTech in Cincinnati is seeking a Lead Java/J2EE Engineer to provide technical leadership in designing, developing, and implementing robust enterprise applications. This role requires deep Java/J2EE expertise, extensive AWS experience, and proficiency with Terraform IaC to provision cloud resources.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure high-quality, scalable software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 9+ years of experience in Java/J2EE enterprise development.
• Extensive AWS cloud services expertise.
• Proven Terraform IaC implementation experience.
• Design and consumption of RESTful and SOAP web services.
• Strong microservices architecture knowledge and patterns.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and DynamoDB.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and implementation of complex enterprise apps.
• Architect solutions leveraging AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB).
• Implement IaC with Terraform for AWS resource provisioning.
• Develop and consume RESTful web services with performance and security in mind.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor team members.
• Collaborate with product owners and architects to define requirements.
• Conduct code reviews and promote best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex issues to ensure production stability.
• Stay current with new technologies and trends.
