Job summary

BNY in New York, NY is seeking a Senior Java Full Stack Developer to help build and enhance a real-time risk management platform. The role balances backend Java/Spring Boot with frontend React development within a global engineering team.

You will contribute to microservices, API development, and database design across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and NoSQL systems, while embracing TDD/BDD and Agile practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer or Software Engineer.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot backend experience.
• Frontend skills with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL (e.g., Hazelcast).
• Experience with OAuth2 and JWT authentication.
• Familiarity with TDD/BDD, code reviews, and automated testing.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong communication across globally distributed teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Full Stack Design, development, testing, and maintenance across frontend and backend for a real-time risk platform.
• Backend focus on Java/Spring Boot with REST API development and system reliability.
• Frontend development with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript; reusable UI components.
• Contribute to microservices architecture and real-time data processing.
• Work with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and NoSQL databases.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs for internal/external systems.
• Implement authentication/authorization using OAuth2/JWT.
• Apply TDD/BDD, participate in code reviews and testing.
• Provide production support and troubleshoot across stack.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, UX/UI, QA, DevOps in Agile ceremonies.
