Cognizant is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer in New York to design, develop, and deliver scalable enterprise applications. You will work with architects, product owners, and stakeholders to build cloud-ready solutions while driving modernization and technical excellence.

The role emphasizes Java 17+, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Angular, TypeScript, and CI/CD pipelines. Hybrid work with office in New York, NY is required, with visa sponsorship not provided.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using Java 17+.
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Microservices, REST API development, JPA, and Hibernate.
• Experience developing modern front-end applications using Angular 17+/19+ and TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and scalable application design.
• Strong database experience including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, database design, query optimization, performance tuning, stored procedures, and indexing strategies.
• Experience with Kafka, MQ, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Docker, Git, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as Camunda.
• Experience building and consuming REST and SOAP APIs.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Build and support secure, reliable RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Develop front-end interfaces using Angular 17+/19+ and TypeScript.
• Design and implement data persistence with JPA/Hibernate across relational and NoSQL databases.
• Implement event-driven architectures and messaging with Kafka.
• Containerize apps with Docker and support CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for front-end/back-end integration.
• Contribute to solution architecture, technical design decisions, and modernization initiatives.
