Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Client Interface Group in Austin, TX. You will develop and maintain NGOMS Rest Services, ngOMS Security, and OAuth related capabilities within an Agile team.

You’ll work closely with product, technology, and operations teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions for Schwab’s order management and trading platforms, with emphasis on code quality, performance, and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of full‑stack development experience.
• 5+ years of experience with Java design and programming.
• 3+ years of experience building or consuming RESTful services.
• 3+ years of experience with Spring Boot and enterprise application development.
• Experience with database development and troubleshooting.
• Experience working in Agile delivery teams and participating in refinement, planning, development, and production support activities.
• Experience with Atlassian tool suites such as Bamboo, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Experience with UNIX / Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain NGOMS Rest Services and related components.
• Collaborate with product owners, technology partners, and operations teams to deliver scalable technical solutions.
• Contribute to design, development, testing, and implementation of cross‑functional applications.
• Build and support Java, Spring Boot REST services and database solutions.
• Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, secure coding practices, and adherence to team standards.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize performance for high‑throughput enterprise systems.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and refinement, estimation, and delivery planning.
• Apply Schwab security protocols and authorization frameworks such as OAuth 2, SAML, and JWT.
