Key Responsibilities
Software Development and Modernization
- Develop efficient, reliable software using Java, C#, Python, .NET, Spring Boot, microservices, and APIs.
- Enhance and maintain on-premises and internal Platform as a Service application, and modernize them for AWS in line with project timelines.
- Design and implement serverless patterns for containerized applications.
- Build industry-standard APIs and establish patterns for API consumption, call routing, connectivity protocols, and policy enforcement.
- Design and implement architecture patterns optimized for service-level agreements, reliability, and cost.
- Evaluate upstream and downstream dependencies to anticipate the long-term consequences of immediate technical decisions.
Engineering Excellence and Security
- Promote software craftsmanship practices, including test-driven development, behavior-driven development, unit and integration test automation, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
- Initiate and lead code reviews and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensure adherence to security standards and privacy requirements from the earliest stages of development.
- Proactively resolve existing technical debt and prevent new technical debt.
- Balance usability and performance requirements, and clearly communicate trade-offs across the team.
Performance, Operations, and Reliability
- Drive performance improvements by monitoring detailed metrics, issues, trends, and costs; recommend solutions and process changes that improve efficiency.
- Administer product upgrades and patches.
- Support teammates with production troubleshooting, maintenance, and issue resolution.
- Participate in the 24/7 on-call support rotation.
Agile Delivery and Collaboration
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate regularly to share ideas, gain perspective, and maintain a common understanding of priorities and technical decisions.
- Communicate critical information clearly and promptly, listen actively, and seek clarification when needed.
- Create practical documentation and operational playbooks.
- Maintain delivery momentum and meet agreed deadlines.
