Job summary

Eight Eleven Group seeks a Senior Software Engineer to modernize a large SAP Commerce Cloud platform using AI-assisted engineering, context engineering, and durable workflow orchestration. You will design reliable business processes across failures, retries, and long executions, applying Temporal/Cadence or comparable platforms.

You will implement workflows for cart, order, inventory, and recovery, ensuring retries, idempotency, and observability while integrating with SAP Commerce, Kafka,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering delivering distributed production systems.
• 5+ years working with SAP Commerce Cloud/Hybris or similar enterprise platforms.
• 5+ years of Java and Spring development experience.
• Hands-on experience with Temporal, Cadence, Azure Durable Functions, AWS Step Functions, Conductor or similar workflow tech.
• Strong understanding of workflow orchestration, retries, idempotency, event-driven systems and failure recovery.
• Experience with Kafka or comparable messaging systems.
• Experience using AI coding assistants or agentic engineering tools.
• Proven testing, debugging, performance analysis and production support skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support SAP Commerce Cloud using Java, Spring, OCC, and REST APIs.
• Design durable workflows for cart, order, inventory, and recovery processes.
• Build workflows with retries, idempotency, failure recovery, versioning and visibility.
• Integrate workflows with SAP Commerce, Kafka, databases, APIs and external services.
• Develop automated testing for workflows, integrations and failure scenarios.
• Apply AI coding tools to development, testing, documentation and incident response.
• Troubleshoot SAP Commerce performance and production issues.
