Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead Java-based microservices development, focusing on scalable, cloud-native architecture. This role is 100% remote and involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products.

Ideal candidates have strong Java expertise with SpringBoot, Docker/Kubernetes, and messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ, plus DoD standards familiarity. Secret clearance eligibility is required for future security work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of Java and microservices development.
• Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native frameworks (AWS, Azure, or government).
• Full-stack experience with Angular preferred.
• Messaging with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Grafana.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jira.
• Experience with SpringBoot, JSON, XML, and REST services.
• Knowledge of DoD standards is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications using Java and Microservices architecture.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Implement cloud-native solutions using modern cloud platforms and frameworks.
• Lead code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Ensure software quality through comprehensive testing and CI practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
