Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Senior Software Engineer at VP level to design, architect, and build core components of the Equity Swaps platform. You will own significant architecture decisions and mentor engineers while remaining hands-on with code.

You will work on a large-scale, real-time, event-driven system, leveraging Java, Spring Boot, and a modern tech stack including MongoDB, Kafka, IBM MQ, Hazelcast, and Snowflake. Expect ownership and leadership in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Java and server-side architecture experience.
• Experience with Kafka or IBM MQ and real-time, high-throughput systems.

Responsibilities

• Building a multi-threaded, real-time Java platform for high-throughput event flows.
• Driving analysis, design, and architecture for cross-team initiatives.
• Working with stack including MongoDB, Kafka, IBM MQ, Hazelcast, Snowflake.
• Becoming SME on the large sharded MongoDB cluster and cashflow calculator.
• Strengthening test automation and CI/CD maturation.
• Leading L3 NA support on a fair rotation and handling incidents.
• Using AI tools to accelerate SDLC while maintaining technical judgment.
