Job summary

NS2 Mission in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Senior Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications in an Agile environment. You will build scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and front-end features with Angular as part of a cross-functional team.

The role requires 6–10 years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, SQL databases, and Linux/Unix. Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills are essential to deliver reliable software for national security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 6-10 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience developing enterprise applications with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL).
• Experience with JavaScript and Angular front-end development.
• Experience in Linux/Unix development environments.
• Familiarity with Git, Agile methodologies, and modern practices.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
• Build scalable backend services and APIs with Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and integrate RESTful web services across distributed systems.
• Design and optimize database solutions using SQL and relational databases.
• Develop UI functionality with JavaScript and Angular with UI/UX and backend collaboration.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product stakeholders to translate requirements.
• Troubleshoot defects, improve performance, and enhance reliability and maintainability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning.
• Support testing, deployment, and CI/CD automation initiatives.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices to improve processes and quality.
