Aquent in Austin, Texas is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead secure, high-performance Java services for identity and access management. You will design, build, and operate cloud-native platforms that power millions of secure user interactions, with emphasis on API security, reliability, and modern deployment practices.

You’ll own end-to-end velocity—from code to production—leveraging AI-assisted development, CI/CD, and collaboration with security, SRE, and product teams to deliver

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Java production-grade services experience.
• 6+ years API development with REST and API security.
• Cloud deployment on public cloud platforms.
• 2+ years with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML 2.0.
• Experience building high-SLA, highly reliable systems.
• Strong distributed systems, concurrency, performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java services with REST APIs.
• Build cloud-native, horizontally scalable services on public clouds.
• Secure APIs using OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML flows.
• Implement API-first designs with clear contracts and backward compatibility.
• Operate resilient systems with low latency, high throughput, and fault tolerance.
• Contribute to production support, incident response, RCA, and reliability improvements.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, deployment.
• Own build → deploy → run lifecycle with monitoring and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with platform, security, SRE, and product teams.
