Job summary

Phaxis in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a Senior Java/J2EE Developer for an 11-month contract to build and support scalable enterprise applications in a global Agile environment. The role is hybrid, with 3 days onsite per week.

You will partner with Product Owners, BAs and IT teams to design, develop, test, and deploy server-side applications, and participate in Agile ceremonies. Strong core Java, Spring, Hibernate, REST/SOAP, and DevOps experience are required.

Qualifications

• Strong Core Java, J2EE, Spring and Hibernate/ORM experience.
• Proficient in REST/SOAP Web Services, XML, XPath, XSLT, JSON.
• Experience with SQL databases; Sybase or DB2 preferred.
• JUnit testing and profiling with JProfiler or JProbe.
• Knowledge of Design Patterns and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience with JIRA/ALM, Agile methodologies and DevOps.
• Exposure to AI tools and models.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and global IT teams to deliver projects.
• Design and develop stable, scalable server-side applications aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Provide hands-on development, testing, and code coverage.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, grooming, and stand-ups.
• Estimate, prioritize, and coordinate technical requirements.
• Apply modern development, testing, and DevOps best practices.
