Job summary

Zeektek is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a 12-month hybrid contract available in Oakland, Alpharetta, or Rancho Cordova. The role focuses on Core Java, Spring Boot microservices, and database development to design, build, test, and deploy scalable enterprise applications.

Azure cloud exposure is highly desirable and experience with CI/CD is required. The candidate will work across cross-functional teams, participate in architecture reviews, and help modernize applications with performance

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Java application development experience.
• Hands-on Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate, Spring Security, Spring Cloud.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with strong hands-on experience in Core Java, Spring Boot Microservices, and database development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting scalable, high-performance enterprise applications. Experience with Azure Cloud technologies is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications using Core Java and Spring Boot Microservices. Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external systems. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Participate in architecture, design reviews, and code reviews. Troubleshoot performance, scalability, and production issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Architects, DevOps, and QA teams. Follow Agile development methodologies and engineering best practices. Contribute to CI/CD implementation and application modernization initiatives.

Required Experience

7+ years of experience in Java application development, with strong expertise in designing and developing enterprise-grade applications using Java technologies. Proven experience building cloud-ready, distributed systems and microservices.

Required Technical Skills

• Core Java: Strong understanding of Java fundamentals, OOP concepts, Collections, Multithreading, Concurrency, Exception Handling, JVM, and Performance Tuning. Experience with Java 8+ features including Streams, Lambda Expressions, and Functional Programming.
• Spring Ecosystem: Hands-on expertise with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA/Hibernate, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud.
• Microservices: Design and development of microservices-based architectures, REST API design and implementation, and service communication patterns, resiliency, fault tolerance, and distributed system concepts.
• Databases: Strong experience with relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server, with expertise in SQL, schema design, query optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• DevOps & Tools: Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and SonarQube, with experience in CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus. Exposure to API Gateway and event-driven architectures. Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms. Knowledge of security best practices and OAuth/JWT authentication.
• Azure Cloud (Nice to Have): Exposure to Azure services such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure App Services, Azure DevOps, and Azure Key Vault. Experience building and deploying cloud-native applications on Azure is a plus.
