Job summary

KAYAK is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to implement new features and maintain our data-driven platform. You will work on parsing and analyzing large data sets, building integrations with airlines, hotels, and rental car providers, and contributing to code reviews and architecture.

Based in Massachusetts with in-office work at least 3 days a week, you will collaborate across teams to deliver scalable solutions, optimize performance, and drive business decisions through robust software

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with Java development.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Extract data from databases; write scripts to parse, clean, and process data.
• Communicate with APIs via REST or SOAP interfaces.
• Configure enterprise applications for large customers.
• Develop tools to aid debugging of existing products.
• Build and maintain high-performance integrations with third-party APIs.
• Take ownership of designs from concept to deployment with focus on quality and performance.
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions to keep the system modular.
