Job summary

AHU Technologies in Washington, DC seeks a Senior Java Developer to lead backend development onsite under a contract framework. You will apply core Java, Spring technologies, and REST APIs within Agile teams to deliver enterprise-level software solutions.

The role requires 16+ years of experience, strong back-end expertise with Spring Boot, Web Services, Maven, Git, and Linux. Collaboration across districts and government-facing systems is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
• 16+ years of Java/J2EE experience.
• Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Integration.
• Strong REST/RPC API development and secure cloud-ready architectures.
• Experience with Maven, Git, Linux, and application servers like Tomcat/Jetty.

Responsibilities

• Ensure updated, compliant architecture and applications meeting enterprise standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture.
• Develop, test, and deploy applications and systems.
• Revise, refactor, and debug code; improve existing Java apps.
• Proactively monitors and reports performance; troubleshoot issues and escalate as needed.
• Coordinate activities of application developers and provide SME input.
