Job summary

GRVTY is seeking a talented and experienced Software Engineer to join our team in a hybrid role. You will design, develop, and implement Java-based software capabilities for modern systems, collaborating with engineers to deliver robust solutions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software engineering, strong Java frameworks, REST/microservices experience, and a proven ability to work under deadlines. Hybrid work requires 2–3 days in Columbia, MD or San Antonio, TX.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Modern Java Frameworks and Libraries (e.g. Spring, Guava).
• Experience in RESTful web services.
• Experience in Microservices architecture.
• Experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Experience with the agile software lifecycle.
• Experience with the Linux operating system.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Git, Nexus, Maven).
• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment with 2-3 days per week in office at Columbia, MD or San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement Java-based software capabilities for computer-based systems.
• Work with other engineers to create software solutions meeting client needs.
• Stay up-to-date with latest developments in software engineering and tools.
• Integrate AI agents and enable agentic workflows where applicable.
• Guide AI agents through complex multi-repository architectures, auditing code for security and performance.
