Job summary

LT Harper Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a remote US-based role focused on Java, Spring, and AI-augmented development. You will own production backend features and contribute to scalable systems.

You will use LLM tools and multi-agent workflows daily, design and optimize distributed architectures, improve tests and CI/CD, and collaborate with product teams to deliver robust software.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering building and maintaining production systems at scale (client requirement).
• Expert-level Java and advanced Spring
• 2+ years of daily, hands-on use of AI coding assistants and multi-step agent workflows (MCP-style or equivalent) for development, debugging and refactoring
• Strong backend, API, distributed systems and system design experience, with production AWS
• Strong PostgreSQL, including data modelling, performance tuning and querying
• Solid grounding in secure coding, OWASP principles, authentication and authorisation, and data protection in distributed systems

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain production backend and distributed systems in Java and Spring, owning complex features from implementation through to deployment
• Use LLM-based coding tools and agent workflows daily to write, refactor, test and debug code, and keep evolving how you work as the tooling changes
• Work with MCP-style multi-agent systems to generate and iterate on production code, automate test creation, support root-cause analysis and speed up code review
• Debug and resolve issues in large-scale production environments, and fix performance, reliability and scalability problems in existing systems
• Improve testing practices, CI/CD workflows and developer efficiency across the team
• Give clear technical feedback in code reviews and work iteratively with engineers and product teams
