Job summary

Govan Systems inc is seeking a Senior Java Developer with deep hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, messaging queues, caching and Angular to build scalable applications connecting Java backends with Angular frontends.

You will develop Java backends (8–21) with JUnit tests, build with Spring Boot, messaging queues and caching (Kafka, Redis or equivalent), and develop Angular front ends focused on responsiveness and accessibility with Playwright tests.

Qualifications

• Senior Java developer with Spring Boot and Angular experience.
• Strong background in message queuing and caching technologies.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and OpenAPI specs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficient in Agile/Scrum environments and QA collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java backends (Java 8–21) with tests.
• Build with Spring Boot, messaging queues, and caching.
• Develop Angular front ends with ADA/WCAG compliance and Playwright tests.
• Create and document RESTful APIs (Spring Boot, OpenAPI).

Fully remote for Wisconsin residents (relocation to Wisconsin considered). Contract position.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, messaging queues, caching and Angular. You will develop and maintain robust, scalable, high-performance applications that integrate Java backend systems with Angular frontends.

Responsibilities: develop and maintain Java (8 to 21) backend applications with JUnit unit tests and code coverage; build with Spring Boot, messaging queues and caching (Kafka, Redis or equivalent); develop Angular (21) front ends focused on responsiveness, usability and ADA/WCAG compliance, with Playwright tests; create and document RESTful APIs (Spring Boot, OpenAPI); collaborate with BAs and QA; do code reviews; take part in the full SDLC; use AI (prompts, skills, MCP) to speed up development.
