Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is seeking a Senior Java Developer in Risk to build mission-critical applications supporting Clearing and Risk across ICE’s global markets. You will apply cloud-native design patterns, modern Java/Spring, and quantitative algorithms to accelerate risk processing at scale.

You will work in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams, focusing on code quality, performance, and scalable risk infrastructure across ICE’s derivative markets and asset classes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing with Java technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Java 8+, OOD and design patterns.
• Experience with messaging (IBM MQ, Rabbit MQ, Kafka, JMS).
• Proficiency with Spring Framework (Boot/Cloud/MVC/Data).
• ORM skills (Hibernate, JPA) and SQL/PL-SQL in relational DBs.
• Multi-threaded server-side development and REST API design.
• Unit testing with JUnit/Mockito and Spring Boot Test.
• CI/CD and modern workflows (Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions).
• Performance tuning, debugging and memory profiling in Java.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and SDLC tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver robust, high-performance Java systems using Java, Spring, REST, and SQL.
• Build creative, performant design and implementations aligned with patterns and resiliency.
• Take ownership of estimation, design, development, testing, production delivery, and mentoring.
• Drive scalability and performance for data-intensive workloads.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into solutions.
• Assist in developing complete functional and non-functional specifications.
• Understand and transition complex business logic to newer technologies.
• Work with operations, DBAs and systems to define recovery procedures.
• Identify root causes of failures and craft effective fixes.
• Operate in an Agile/CI environment with SDLC tooling.
• Plan and execute unit tests to ensure defect-free code.
• Collaborate with business and QA to design feature, regression and integration tests.
