Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Senior Java Developer in Addison, Texas, to join a fast-paced IT environment. The role demands 7+ years of hands-on development experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot microservices, and strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and IBM ODM rule development.

You will work across teams to design, implement, and deliver robust, scalable solutions while ensuring production readiness.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of IT software experience with hands-on development.
• Proficiency in Java/J2EE and JUnit with experience in Java core development.
• Strong background on application servers (WAS, Tomcat) and multi-tier architectures.
• Cloud experience with Kubernetes containers and microservices using Spring Boot.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is desirable; IBM ODM knowledge a plus.
• Database experience with Oracle, SQL, and ETL processes.
• Working knowledge of Linux/Windows environments.
• Ability to quickly learn and work with minimal supervision in a dynamic setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Java-based software solutions with core Java development focus.
• Work with IBM ODM to write rules and support business rules management.
• Collaborate with LOB, application developers, architects, and infrastructure partners.
• Design, develop and ensure feature delivery with enterprise standards.
• Ensure product acceptance criteria are met with minimal technical debt.
• Contribute to backlog refinement with clear acceptance criteria.
• Lead low-level technical design and conduct code reviews to maintain high standards.
• Prepare deployments for production, focusing on performance and database tasks.
• Manage defects and coordinate with testers and business analysts for timely releases.
• Ensure alignment with product backlog and acceptance criteria.
