Pathway Solutions GmbH is seeking a Senior Java Developer to own the domain of our billing and invoice generation systems. You will design, develop, and maintain core applications in a remote-friendly environment, focusing on scalable infrastructure and high-concurrency workflows.

You will work with SQL and NoSQL databases, APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI, and cloud operations in GCP, while collaborating with a fast-growing team. 5+ years backend Java experience and strong problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend Java experience.
• Structured mindset for breaking down complex problems and clear stakeholder communication.
• Strong experience in async environments and multi-threaded application logic.
• DevOps/infrastructure ownership for scalable and reliable systems.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
• Clear team communication; experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain billing applications and invoice generation features using Java.
• Architect and manage highly concurrent, multi-threaded logic for performance and memory efficiency.
• Own infrastructure tasks to ensure scalable, reliable systems.
• Utilize SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Bigtable) effectively.
• Design and maintain API integrations using Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Implement and manage cloud operations in GCP.
